Key takeaways

  • Four boot cover models that reach up the lower leg: SMS with elastic (13011-B-L) or ties (13012-B-L), PE film (13001-B-L) and SF (13056-W-L).
  • 13056-W-L in SF microporous film is listed as waterproof and breathable; the PE model is waterproof film and machine-made.
  • All models pack 50 pcs per bag and 500 per case.

Disposable boot covers extend up the lower leg, so they protect trouser legs and socks as well as shoes. Choose them over shoe covers when fluid can pool on the floor or splash above the shoe, or when lower clothing must stay clean in isolation areas.

Key Features

  • 13011-B-L: SMS, 52×42 cm, hand-made with elastic top
  • 13012-B-L: SMS, 52×42 cm, hand-made with ties
  • 13001-B-L: PE film, 38×50 cm, machine-made
  • 13056-W-L: SF, 52×42 cm, waterproof and breathable, elastic top
  • Knee-length style, with elastic or tie closure

Applications

Isolation and outbreak units, operating rooms with heavy fluid, mortuary and autopsy work, veterinary and livestock sites, food plant washdown areas and spill clean-up. The SF model suits long shifts in wet areas because it stays waterproof while letting water vapor out. For dry floors and short visits, shoe covers cost less.

Buyer questions, answered

Clear answers for preparing a comparable sourcing request for Boot Covers.

Boot covers vs shoe covers: when do you need knee-high protection?

Use boot covers when liquid can splash above the shoe or pool on the floor, or when trouser legs must stay clean, as in isolation units, heavy-fluid surgery, washdown areas and farms. Shoe covers are enough for clean, dry floors and short visits.

Are disposable boot covers waterproof?

Only some. The PE model 13001-B-L and the SF model 13056-W-L are waterproof materials, and SF also lets water vapor out for comfort. The SMS models are breathable non-woven with a barrier layer, but they are not waterproof.

SMS vs PE boot covers: which should you choose?

PE film is the low-cost waterproof option for short tasks. SMS is more comfortable for long wear in dry or light-splash areas. SF sits between the two: waterproof like film but more breathable.

Elastic or tie closure?

Elastic, on 13011-B-L and 13056-W-L, is quicker to put on. Ties, on 13012-B-L, let the wearer tighten the cover around the leg, which helps it stay up during long or active work.
